Corissa MacLean is passionate about helping people and providing family, individual, and group therapy to a variety of populations (children, adolescents, adults). She has enjoyed creating new branches of services, developing therapeutic curriculum, and designing recidivism reduction plans with mandated clients. She hopes to continue to learn new skills and develop increasingly effective therapeutic services for clients and communities.
Corissa graduated from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA in 2004 with her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and graduated from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in Kutztown, PA with her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2013.
Corissa has worked in a multitude of settings including private practice, a children’s psychiatric hospital, a juvenile detention center, in home counseling, and the school system. Corissa worked with Dawning Phoenix, LLC as a graduate intern, in cooperation with Brenau University, while completing graduate school and is pleased to continue working with Dawning Phoenix as a post-master’s clinician.
As a counselor with specialized skills and training in marital and family therapy, Corissa follows systems theory and practices solution-focused therapy, however, Corissa believes that we are all unique individuals and caters her therapeutic style to what is best and most effective for each and every client.
